Book Chat: Horizontal World: Growing up Wild in the Middle of Nowhere.
Author Debra Marquart will be joining us for discussion! Horizontal World is an evocative memoir of growing up on a family farm in rural North Dakota, on land her family had worked for generations. Reflecting on her desire to escape the difficult life, her relationship with and her admiration for her father, and the influence of place on personal identity. Debra Marquart is a Distinguished Professor of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University Marquart is the author of six books. Her work has been featured on NPR.
