Since our very start, Clear Lake City Park has been one happening place. In 1870, James Dickirson gifted this beautiful property to his Clear Lake Village. When Clear Lake City and Clear Lake Village incorporated to become Clear Lake in 1871, this park was front and center of the new town.
In the early years a fence was necessary to keep cows out while being moved to the markets. Later it was removed and easy access available to everyone.
It’s fun to think about how many different ways this shaded spot has been enjoyed by countless people, residents and visitors. Family picnics, children playing, new loves discovering each other. Of course the multitude of events is mind boggling! This square is hopping all year round. Something for everyone.
Our effervescent Chamber of Commerce keeps the events coming. Dedicated Parks staff make sure our park has her best face on for each gathering. Come set a spell on a bench and admire this jewel.
