What an incredible Christmas by the Lake weekend we just had! Hats off to all the people who make it happen.

Clear Lake has always loved Christmas.

The Clear Lake Observer reported in 1875 that Christmas bells were ringing. Decorated trees, resplendent with twinkling lights, stood over nativity sets.

Citizens were looking forward to “a gaudy day filled with mirth and feasting around a fire stacked high with logs to replenish the cheer.”
The years may change , but the spirit remains the same. Family, friends and neighbors gather to celebrate “a time to rest from daily toils. We listen once more to the same story which has charmed generation after generation, still forever new.”
